The following are some recommendations to make sure the transition is as seamless as possible:
- Make sure to prevent messages from being sent from both services at once. You may want to double-check with the support team of your previous service to ensure that the service is no longer sending messages on your behalf. You can also revoke MWS access. The Amazon MWS Developer Permissions menu allows you to see what applications have access, or have had access, to your MWS credentials. This menu can be found from your Seller Central's User Permissions page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/account-manager/home.html). The form will include the developer name, ID, and date of authorization. Right next to it will be the option to "revoke" the permissions if you wish the third party no longer have access to the account.
- Create messages! From the "Custom Messages" tab under Communications in your left navigation, click on the orange add button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Once the orange button is clicked, this window will pop up with three message options which allow you to Start from Scratch, Copy an Existing Message, or Use a Template. When you are ready to begin sending messages, you can switch the status of your messages to "Active".
By default your messages will be on "Test mode", which means your message will not send to your customers. Messages will only send to your customers once the status is changed to "Active." Once you are ready, click on the Custom Messages tab under Communications in your left navigation. Then find the status menu for the message you want to change within the "All Messages" list and click on the "Status" drop down menu. From here, you will be able to select the status of your message.
- Prevent duplicate messages! Every Feedback Genius template includes the option to select the start and end date from the When filters of your message. If needed, these parameters can be used to set the start date for your Feedback Genius messages.
The start date can be set to the date you stopped using the previous service. This would target orders after the designated start date (not targeting orders before that date). The end date can simply be a date in the future.
For example, the below dates would effectively only target orders that are placed on or after May 10th of 2016, and onward to the "ceiling" date of December 31st, 2099.
Start Date: 05-10-2016
End Date: 12-31-2099
