Follow these steps to connect the Seller Labs MySQL database to Looker Studio:

Step 1: Gather MySQL Connection Details from Seller Labs

Before setting up the connection, ensure you have the following details:

  • SQL Host Server: The MySQL server hostname provided by Seller Labs (e.g., servername.data.sellerlabs.com).

  • Port: The port number for the MySQL server (default: 6603 unless specified otherwise).

  • Database Name: The name of the database you want to connect to.

  • Username: Your MySQL username provided by Seller Labs.

  • Password: The corresponding password for your MySQL username.

You can get these from the Seller Labs Data Hub page. If you do not see them there, feel free to check these instructions on how to establish the connection.

Step 2: Configure Access for Looker Studio

  1. Allow IP Whitelisting (if required):

    • Seller Labs may need to whitelist Looker Studio's IP ranges. Feel free to use these instructions on how to whitelist IP.

    • Refer to the Looker Studio documentation for the IP ranges to whitelist.

  2. Enable Remote Access:

    • Ensure that the MySQL server allows remote connections from the Looker Studio environment.

Step 3: Set Up the Connection in Looker Studio

  1. Open Looker Studio in your web browser.

  2. Click the Create button at the top left and select Data Source.

  3. In the Connector Gallery, search for and select MySQL.

Step 4: Enter MySQL Connection Details

  4. Username: Enter the MySQL username from Seller Labs.

  5. Password: Enter the MySQL password associated with your username.

Step 5: Test and Save the Connection

    • If the connection is successful, Looker Studio will display the tables and schema from the Seller Labs MySQL database.

    • If the connection fails, verify the credentials, whitelist configuration, and remote access settings.

  2. Click Connect to save the data source.

Step 6: Build Your Reports

  1. After the connection is established, Looker Studio will display the available tables and fields from the database.

  2. Select the table or fields you want to use and click Add to Report.
