Overview

Global Ad Scheduling is a powerful feature offered by Seller Labs, designed to help Amazon sellers manage their advertising campaigns more efficiently. With this feature, users can control when their ads are active across all their campaigns, optimizing ad spend and targeting specific time windows when ads perform best.

Key Benefits

  • Optimize Ad Spend: Avoid spending money during non-peak hours by scheduling ads to run during times of higher traffic or better conversion rates.

  • Simplified Campaign Management: Apply scheduling across multiple campaigns simultaneously, streamlining ad management.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use performance data to tailor ad schedules to your audience’s shopping patterns. Please find more information about suggested strategies in this article.

  • Increased ROI: Targeting ads during peak hours can lead to higher conversion rates and a better return on investment (ROI).

How It Works

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log into Seller Labs: Access the Seller Labs dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Ad Scheduling Section:

    • From the hamburger menu in your top left, select the Advertising section.

    • Under Advertising, choose Schedule Campaigns.

  3. Set Your Time Zones:

    • The scheduling feature works based on the time zone of your Amazon marketplace (e.g., US, EU, etc.). Make sure you select the appropriate time zone for each marketplace. You can set either local timezone or marketplace timezone.

  4. Create a Schedule:

    • Choose the campaigns you want to apply scheduling to (e.g., Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands). For this, select campaigns from the list by clicking the Select button next to the campaign name OR start to type in a campaign name in the Campaign Selection field and select the needed campaign from the list. Already selected campaigns will be shown on the top of the list.

    • Select the days and times during which you want your ads to run. You can schedule by:

      • Hours of the Day: Run ads only during certain hours (e.g., 9 AM to 9 PM).

      • Days of the Week: Turn off ads during weekends or less profitable days.

  5. Apply Scheduling Across Campaigns:

    • Once the schedule is set, you can apply it globally to all the selected campaigns. This saves time compared to configuring each campaign individually. For this, just hit the Save And Apply to Campaigns button on the bottom of the page!

    • Additionally, you can save the template so you do not have to set days and time every time you visit this page! Push the Save Template button and save the template!

  6. Monitor Performance:

    • After scheduling is active, you can monitor how well your ads perform during the scheduled times. Look for improvements in metrics such as impressions, clicks, and conversions on the Advertising dashboard and the Campaign Manager page as well! Moreover, the SKU Details and SKU Economics will give you more granular data on a SKU level!

  7. Adjust as Necessary:

    • Based on performance data, you can tweak your schedule to further optimize results. The feature is flexible and allows you to make adjustments in real-time.

  8. Check which campaigns already have the Ad Scheduling setup on the same page:

    • The Scheduled Campaign tab will show you the list of campaign with active Ad Scheduling

Use Cases

  • Seasonal Campaigns: If your products sell better during specific seasons or times of the day, you can schedule ads to only run during those periods.

  • Budget Control: Sellers with limited ad budgets can focus their ad spend on high-conversion hours, ensuring a better use of funds.

  • Performance Testing: Run experiments to see if ads perform better at different times of day or on specific days of the week, adjusting the schedule based on results.

Best Practices

  • Leverage Historical Data: Use historical ad performance data to identify peak shopping times and schedule your ads to run during these hours. The Wasted Adspend Heatmap by Hour app will help you to get this information!

  • Regularly Review Campaign Results: Continuously monitor your campaigns and adjust scheduling as necessary to reflect changes in consumer behavior or market trends.

  • Avoid Over-Scheduling: Running ads 24/7 may lead to wasted ad spend during low-traffic periods. Focus your budget on key hours of the day.

Conclusion

Global Ad Scheduling by Seller Labs allows you to optimize your Amazon advertising efforts by controlling when your ads are active, leading to more efficient use of your budget and improved performance. By setting specific timeframes for your ads to run, you can maximize conversions, improve ROI, and manage campaigns more effectively.
